Tam Gordon, a Nashville native, is a University of Tennessee-Nashville graduate.
Her professional career includes media and government. In media, she was a reporter for the Nashville Banner and later was Communications Director for the John Seigenthaler Center at Vanderbilt University.
In government, she served as press secretary for former Mayor Phil Bredesen, special assistant for projects for former Governor Phil Bredesen, and is now special assistant to Mayor Karl Dean.
She currently serves on the board of directors of a number of philanthropic non-profit organizations, including Room in the Inn, The Next Door, and the Martha O’Bryan Center, where she is on the executive committee.
She is a past board member of the Tennessee Repertory Theatre and the Alcohol and Drug Council of Middle Tennessee, where she served as secretary.
At Fourteenth Avenue, she serves on the Usher Board, is a part of the evangelistic team, works in the Sunday School department and assists with the Room in the Inn and TAP (the church’s year-round academic program).
She is the wife of Frank Gordon, the mom of Tomiko Gordon and Trevonda Dye, and the grandma of Carmello, EJ, Christian and Gabriel. She is the daughter of Olive Riche Mayberry and the late Thomas Lee Riche, and the sister of Terrence Riche and Thomas Riche.
