THE “GET OUT OF THE BOAT” MINISTRY

Sponsored by: The Deacons & Wives Ministry

Our Mission: The mission of the “Get Out of the Boat” Ministry is to teach the Word of God in a manner that the church will no longer struggle with the act of Fear and is able to act in Faith no longer remaining complacent, focusing on the request of our risen Savior, looking for the spirit of God to work through us so we can do the impossible.

“Jesus taught, “Greater things than I have done, you will do.”

What are some of the things that cause us not to be obedient to the call of our Jesus the Christ? It has been researched that the number one causes for not heeding the call is the lack of “Faith” and the abundance of “Fear.” Faith by our American dictionary standard it is the confident belief or trust in the truth or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing. As Christians we know, the Word of God tells us, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen.

Our Curriculum: Is based on the group study materials “If You Want to Walk on Water, You’ve Got to Get Out of the Boat” by John Ortberg that addresses Christ’s call to greater faith, power-filled deeds, transcend fear, risk faith, manage failure and trust God. It is a six-session journey in learning to trust God.

Facing fears and choosing faith
Embracing God’s calling on our lives
Experiencing the power of God
Accomplishing what we cannot do on our own
Doing things to serve the Lord as only you can
“If you want to walk on the water, you got to get out of the Boat” - John Ortberg

Christ has called us to get out of the boat and commit to living beyond the possible; WALKING IN FAITH AND COURAGE!!!
